About Last Word Media

Ever since I can remember, I’ve had a strong passion for the English language. A gift inherited from my mother. She encouraged me to devour books and introduced me to wordplay, puns, and other thought-provoking expressions, which thrilled me.

 

In my teens, my appetite for English intensified. I loved the creative and technical sides of it. I loved it when friends asked me to proofread and edit their assignments. Helping them to shape their ideas with a pen gave me a great sense of collaboration and teamwork.

In 2012, I joined a media house as an editorial intern. I wanted to work in the digital space. It was here that I learned about online publishing, and the ‘backend of writing’.  

 

Writing is not just about putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard. Writing for the web requires knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).

 

Online copy is about writing for an audience as well as for Google. Posts need to strike a balance between human interest and search engine satisfaction. 

 

I fell in love with the fast-paced nature and interactional character of all things digital. Last Word Media was forged from this passion for the digital space and a love of the written word. We launched in 2018 and have been growing ever since.

 

Our goal is to help people and brands express their message in a way that reaches and resonates with their audiences.
